A Moose Creek resident reported the following complaint to Alaska DEC.Date: Sat, Apr 2, 2011 at 10:14 PM
Subject: Strong Air Pollution Smell of Burning Trash in Moose Creek Baker Road Sat April 2 2011
To: email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org
To: Kristen Brown, SOA DEC Air Quality Technician,
I am filing an air quality complaint for Moose Creek April 2, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. The stench of woodsmoke and burning plastics is so great that it is penetrating my house and I am having to leave the area for the evening because of the adverse health effects of the air pollution. The Moose Creek area should be part of the FNSB nonattainment area for PM2.5 due to the heavy woodsmoke and other air pollution in the area. Please take action to amend the PM2.5 nonattainment area to include the community of Moose Creek. The people here are being accosted by the severe air pollution in this area. If you can not come out to Moose Creek at night when the air quality is bad, please provide me with a hand-held tester so that I can provide you with the data that is required to amend the PM2.5 non-attainment area so that Moose Creek will be included in it. Your time and consideration of this matter will be greatly appreciated.
