Fairbanks battled a significant pollutant, carbon monoxide or CO, since the 1970s at least. That battle was won, not without cost to local residents, through cooperative efforts between EPA, the State of Alaska, and our local government. Now Fairbanks’ CO success story is heralded as proof that it can be done. Pollution is a choice we can control, breathing is not. Lower CO levels benefit us all.
So, what about PM 2.5 pollution? You know what to do: vote “NO” October 5.
